Scotland made it two wins from two this international window with a 2-1 win over Belarus. Che Adams and Scott McTominay were on the scoresheet. It was far from a convincing win, with the visitors having 22 attempts on goal. - watch the highlights here

We are now guaranteed a play-off following Denmark’s 3-1 win over Greece last night. Up next is Greece away in November before the final group game at home to Denmark.

To top the group and qualify automatically, we will need to win at least a point in Greece and win at home against Denmark.

Inverness, Stenhousemuir, and Montrose maintained their 100% records in the league phase.

The bottom eight sides in the elimination spots are all B teams. The only SPFL sides left to secure their place in the next round with one match day left are Hamilton Academical (all but there due to goal difference), Queen of the South, Annan Athletic, and Stirling Albion.

🟠 New emails between Dundee United and Abertay University obtained by The Courier undermine the timeline of Dundee United’s £1.2m tax relief claim for research and development.

The controversial claim was made for R&D starting in July 2020, with the investigation by The Courier showing the club “opened talks with Abertay University in January 2022 — 18 months after paperwork drafted by club advisers suggested “extensive and investigative” research with the institution had begun.” - Paul Malik, The Courier

🏅 Oli McBurnie has been named EFL Championship Player of the Month for September. The 29-year-old signed for Hull City this summer after leaving Las Palmas. - Graham Falk, The Scotsman

⚫️ Newcastle United have appointed former Rangers Sporting Director Ross Wilson as their new Sporting Director.

The Scotsman was most recently Chief of Football Operations at Nottingham Forest. - Newcastle United website

➡️ Brora Rangers went back to the top of the Breedon Highland League following their 3-2 away victory at Deveronvale and Banks o’Dee’s 3-1 win over Fraserburgh.

Formartine United and Brechin City also recorded victories to keep it tight at the top. Clachnacuddin lost 1-0 at home to Huntly, slipping further behind. - view the Highland League table

➡️ Clydebank went level on points with Linlithgow Rose at the top of the Park’s Motor Group Lowland League on Saturday. They beat Gala Fairydean Rovers 3-0 away.

🏅 Glasgow City’s Nicole Kozlova has been named SWPL 1 Player of the Month for September.
