Motherwell spent a total of six weeks at sea to play 13 games on a South American tour at the end of the 1927/28 season. They played teams from Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil, including the Argentinian national team, who they beat 3-0.

Hearts now know it is four points from their last two games to guarantee the title. They could win it on Wednesday night if Motherwell beat Celtic and they beat Falkirk at Tynecastle. At the other end, it is looking like St Mirren will be in the relegation play-off. They are four points behind Kilmarnock with two games to go.
