⚽️ It all comes down to Saturday. If Hearts avoid defeat at Celtic, they win the title. A Celtic win and they are champions for the 14th time out of the last 15 seasons.
For Hearts, it could have been just avoiding a heavy defeat had it not been for the controversial penalty at Fir Park. Derek McInnes called the decision “disgusting”.
Thanks to late winners at both Fir Park and Ibrox, Motherwell and Hibs will shoot it out to see who finishes fourth. Similar to Hearts, the Steelmen have to avoid defeat. - view the Premiership table here
To give you a flavour of the wider reaction to the decision to give Celtic the penalty last night, here are just a few posts on social media:
Gary Lineker: “This might be the worst VAR decision I’ve seen (and there’s a lot of competition). Extraordinary given the significance.”
Jeff Stelling: “Seriously that is never a handball at Fir Park. The boy headed it 20 yards. The ref takes one look after VAR calls him over. Embarrassing for Scottish football.”
Don Hutchison: “Wow the VAR pen in the Celtic game... One of the worst decisions of all time. You don’t get that much power with your hand. It hits his forehead. Again the ref did NOT give it on field. So according to law. “It’s not clear and obvious”
