🗣️ Scottish Labour leader Anas Sanwar has written to the Competitions and Markets Authority asking them to reconsider their decision not to investigate the “exploitative practices” in youth football in Scotland.
The Children and Young People’s Commissioner Scotland and the youth organisation Real Grassroots lodged complaints about the Scottish FA and SPFL with the CMA in December last year. This was part of a long-running campaign.
Their legal representative Gunnercooke alleged that four of the governing bodies’ rules – the no-poach, no-approach, unilateral extension and development contribution rules - breached United Kingdom competition law. - Matthew Lindsay, The Herald
