CELTIC - THE TEAM THAT LOST 3-1 TO INVERNESS CALEDONIAN THISTLE IN 2000
Super Caley Go Ballistic, Celtic Are Atrocious.
We all know the headline in the aftermath of one of the biggest Scottish Cup shocks in history. First division Inverness Caledonian Thistle beat Celtic 3-1 in Glasgow.
Barry Wilson had put Inverness ahead after 16 minutes before Mark Burchill equalised a minute later. A Lubo Moravcik own goal and Paul Sheerin’s penalty gave the Highlands side the famous win.
Two days later, Celtic manager John Barnes was sacked.
Whatever happened to that Celtic squad?
JONATHAN GOULD
Following Rab Douglas’ arrival at Celtic after the appointment of Martin O’Neill, Gould became a backup keeper before eventually moving to Preston North End. He subsequently had spells at Hereford United and Bristol City before moving to New Zealand.
After retiring from playing, Gould has had coaching roles in Australia, New Zealand, and England. He is currently the goalkeeper coach at Auckland FC.
TOM BOYD
Captain Boyd remained at Celtic until 2003 before retiring. He went on to become a club ambassador and can be found on Celtic TV.
